Battery Scientist / Engineer

Job Description

 

  • Contribute significantly in the lab to help build, test, and characterize battery cells
  • Try new innovative ideas for the improvement of our technology
  • Be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing (electrochemical) testing   
  • Contribute to ex-situ (i.e. non-electrochemical) material characterization efforts
  • Support electrochemical testing by troubleshooting and resolving failures, and maintaining cells on test
  • Generate internal reports to document all research activities and to propose future work   
  • Develop new testing protocols suitable for matching the energy market's requirements for long-term energy storage
  • Communicate your findings within a collaborative group of engineers and scientists
Your profile
  • You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a relevant field You enjoy hands-on laboratory work
  • You have experience in developing electrochemical devices with a practical understanding of electrochemical science and systems
  • You have 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in battery testing in either academia or industry (e.g., RDE, EIS, cyclic voltammetry, constant current technique, constant potential technique, etc.).
  • You have a passion for sustainability and climate change
  • You have a creative mindset and are not afraid of trying new innovative ideas.. 
  • You have high attention to detail, excellent organisational, and communication skills
  • You have a growth mindset and  a preference for learning through experience
  • You are fluent in English
